Pilot collection notice — version 2026-08-c12-v1. MomentTide stores the contributions you choose to provide, the display name you enter, event and mission associations, server timestamps, file metadata and basic technical information needed to deliver the event, protect the service, investigate abuse and respond to properly verified lawful requests.
Who controls sharing
The event host controls the event's sharing mode. Host-only or private responses remain restricted to authorized recipients. Content that is pending moderation, rejected, quarantined, preserved or deleted is not eligible for ordinary guest viewing. Eligible approved contributions may appear in an event gallery according to the host's privacy and reveal settings.
Guest sessions and downloads
Guests do not need an account. A secure, event-scoped first-party session lets the same browser resume and download only its own eligible contributions. MomentTide does not use advertising identifiers, canvas or font fingerprinting, or cross-event behavioral profiling. Clearing browser data or changing device does not transfer ownership automatically.
Technical and network information
Basic browser/device category and trusted production network information may be recorded for security, abuse investigation and lawful-response purposes. Raw IP data is isolated from normal event records, encrypted when configured, never shown to event hosts or included in ordinary exports, and proposed to expire after 90 days unless an approved preservation or legal hold applies. MomentTide does not fabricate a network source port when infrastructure does not provide one.
Website usage totals
MomentTide counts page loads in broad categories, such as the homepage or guest gallery, to understand service usage. These totals contain no names, emails, event codes, full URLs or visitor profiles, and are retained for up to 400 days. This reporting uses no cookies and respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. A rotating network hash protects the counting endpoint from abuse; it expires after two minutes and is removed when collection next runs.
Storage, access and overseas processing
Original uploads remain in private cloud storage and may be processed or stored by contracted infrastructure providers in other countries. Access is limited by event role, explicit permission and audited operational or legal workflow. Signed access links are short-lived; permanent public Storage URLs are not used.
Lawful disclosure and retention
MomentTide does not disclose identifiers merely because someone claims to be police or another authority. Agency identity, legal authority and exact scope must be independently verified. Non-emergency disclosure requires two distinct authorized approvals. Valid preservation can pause ordinary expiry or deletion, and release follows a separate audited approval process.
Your choices and questions
Do not contribute if you do not accept this collection. For access, correction or privacy questions during the pilot, contact the event host who shared the link. A dedicated MomentTide privacy contact and legally reviewed commercial privacy policy will be published before launch.
This pilot notice and the proposed 90-day network-retention period require Australian privacy and legal review before commercial launch.
